Reschedule once without charge or request a refund for that unused single lesson. Bundle lessons return to the remaining bundle balance.
Booking and safeguarding policies · Effective 26 July 2026
Clear expectations. Fair treatment. Safe learning.
These policies apply to ClaudioTeach consultations, one-to-one lessons and lesson bundles. They are designed to respect each learner while protecting teaching time that has been reserved for them.
01 · Booking and payment
Prices and confirmation
- A lesson is confirmed only after the agreed payment has cleared and ClaudioTeach has issued a booking confirmation.
- The introductory £15 first-lesson price may be used once per new learner.
- International customers are charged in GBP or a supported local-currency equivalent shown by the payment provider. Exchange rates and conversion charges may be set by the provider or card issuer.
- Lessons begin and finish at the confirmed time. The learner is responsible for having a suitable device, internet connection and any agreed software or materials ready.
02 · Online purchase rights
Fourteen-day cooling-off period
Where UK distance-selling cancellation rights apply, a customer normally has 14 days from purchase to cancel. If the customer asks ClaudioTeach to provide a consultation or lesson during that period, they expressly request early performance. If part of the service has been delivered before cancellation, a proportionate amount may be deducted for the service already supplied. Once a service has been fully performed, the cancellation right may end where the customer gave the required request and acknowledgement.
Nothing in these policies removes or restricts rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer law.
03 · Changes by the learner
Cancellations and rescheduling
A 50% late-cancellation charge applies because the teaching time may no longer be reusable. The remaining 50% is refunded or credited.
If the learner gives no notice or is more than 15 minutes late without contact, the lesson is treated as missed and the full fee is payable.
- Rescheduling is subject to availability and should be requested through the verified booking contact.
- A rescheduled lesson may be moved once. A second change can be treated as a cancellation under the notice window that applies at that time.
- If exceptional illness, bereavement or emergency makes the standard policy unfair, ClaudioTeach may offer a credit or reschedule after considering the circumstances and any reasonable evidence.
- Arriving late does not extend the scheduled finishing time. ClaudioTeach will teach for the remaining booked time.
04 · Changes by ClaudioTeach
If Claudio must cancel
If ClaudioTeach cancels or cannot substantially deliver a lesson, the learner can choose a replacement time, full credit or full refund for that affected lesson. No learner cancellation charge applies. ClaudioTeach is not responsible for indirect losses, but this does not limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
05 · Refunds and bundles
Unused lessons, bundle value and expiry
- Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method, normally within 14 days of approval, subject to the payment provider’s processing time.
- The five-lesson bundle expires six months after purchase. All five lessons must be used by that date unless an extension is agreed in writing.
- A 30-day extension may be granted for significant illness, bereavement or another serious event when requested before expiry. Statutory rights remain unaffected.
- Bundles are for one named learner, are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash after expiry.
- If a bundle refund is approved after lessons have started, completed lessons are recalculated at the regular £20 rate and the remaining paid balance is refunded. Example: after two completed lessons, £40 is deducted from the £95 bundle and £55 remains.
- No refund is due for a lesson already delivered with reasonable care and skill, subject always to the learner’s statutory remedies if the service was not delivered as agreed.
06 · Online lesson interruptions
Technical problems
- If a material problem on ClaudioTeach’s side prevents the lesson, the learner receives replacement time, credit or a proportionate refund.
- If the learner’s equipment or connection fails, ClaudioTeach will make reasonable efforts to continue by an agreed alternative. The normal cancellation policy may apply if the lesson cannot proceed.
- Short interruptions will be handled reasonably, including adding time where practicable or crediting material lost teaching time.
07 · Under-18 safeguarding
Guardian consent and safe attendance
ClaudioTeach welcomes learners of all ages. A parent or legal guardian must apply, consent to these policies, control the booking and payment, and provide the contact email for every learner under 18.
A parent or guardian must join the start of every lesson and remain in the same room or clearly within earshot for the whole session.
A parent or guardian must join the first session, be available at the start and end of later sessions, and remain on the premises within earshot.
Lessons should take place at a desk or table in an appropriate shared or open space, never in a private bedroom where a suitable alternative is available.
Communication and professional boundaries
- All bookings, changes, progress updates and out-of-session messages go through the parent or guardian’s verified contact details.
- ClaudioTeach will not privately message, follow or connect with an under-18 learner through personal social-media accounts.
- Learning materials, language, clothing, backgrounds and screen-sharing must remain appropriate. Only lesson-related windows and files should be visible.
- No lesson is recorded by ClaudioTeach or the learner unless the purpose, storage period and access have been agreed in writing and the guardian has given specific consent.
- A guardian may sit in on any lesson. ClaudioTeach may pause or end a session if the required adult is unavailable, the environment is unsafe or boundaries are not respected.
- ClaudioTeach may record factual safeguarding notes and may share a concern with the guardian or an appropriate safeguarding authority when necessary to protect a child or comply with law.
- Immediate danger should be reported to the local emergency services. ClaudioTeach is a tutoring service, not an emergency or counselling service.
08 · Conduct and ending tuition
Respectful learning
Learners, guardians and ClaudioTeach must behave respectfully. Discrimination, harassment, threats, sexualised behaviour, abusive language or misuse of lesson technology is not accepted. ClaudioTeach may end a session immediately for a serious safety or conduct concern and may end future tuition after giving a clear reason. Any unused prepaid balance will be handled fairly according to the circumstances and applicable law.
09 · Questions and complaints
Raise concerns promptly
Questions, cancellation notices, safeguarding concerns and complaints should be sent through the verified ClaudioTeach business contact shown in the booking confirmation. ClaudioTeach will acknowledge the message and aim to provide a substantive response within five working days.
These policies are a practical business draft and should be reviewed by a qualified UK solicitor or consumer-law adviser before paid bookings are enabled.
